About DOA and how we score
DOA is a Spanish-language guide to artificial intelligence tools. It helps you choose based on what you want to do, the device you use and what you can pay, and it always sends you to the official site.
Who is behind it
DOA is published by Daniel Orlando Añez Añez (full details in the legal notice). We write every page in plain words, for people who are starting out with AI and do not want to spend hours comparing.
What each tool page includes
- What it is and what it is for, without jargon.
- What it costs, what the free version includes (if there is one) and its plans.
- Which devices it works on and what level it needs.
- Pros, cons, who it suits and its alternatives.
- The date it was last updated.
How the DOA score works
Each tool has an overall score from 0 to 100 plus scores by use: video, coding, free use, students and business. They are DOA's editorial, indicative ratings, not user reviews or third-party rankings. They help you compare at a glance: in «AI assistants» you can sort by score (highest or lowest first), by name or by price, and the «best of» lists are sorted by score.
The overall score always comes from the same rubric: output quality (60%), free plan (10%), ease of use (10%), value for money (10%) and activity (10%: whether it keeps improving or is fading). What weighs most is how well it does its job; free tools have their own list. If a tool shuts down, it leaves the catalogue and we keep its alternatives page with a notice.
How the comparison verdict is decided
The «DOA verdict» on each comparison (and in the comparison tool) is not the DOA score: it uses a formula of its own to compare two tools in the same category. It weighs the DOA score in that category (60%), the free version (20%, each tool page's free-use score), ease of use (10%) and the devices it runs on (10%). That is why the free version weighs differently in the verdict (20%) than in the DOA score (10%).
How the DOA ranking of AI models is calculated
The DOA ranking of models is not the DOA score and carries no DOA opinion: it is the average of two external sources with an open licence (CC BY 4.0), the overall text score from Arena (its public Hugging Face dataset, with style control) and Epoch AI's Epoch Capabilities Index.
Each source is put on a 0-100 scale across the catalogue models that appear in both (100 = the best on the list in that source, 0 = the lowest) and we take the simple average. A model only gets a DOA ranking with at least 2 sources; otherwise we show its original figures without a rank. Next to each model we show each source's figure, the variant used, the link and the data date. The sources do not endorse the result.
Prices and updates
Prices are indicative and in the currency each company publishes them in (dollars or euros). When the tool page gives the source, it also gives the date we checked them. They change often, so always check the official site. If you spot something wrong, email doaiacreativestudio@gmail.com and we will check it.
Partner links
DOA does not host software: the “Official site” button takes you to each tool's own page. If a link is a partner link (DOA may earn a commission if you sign up), we say so on the tool page, and the price is the same for you.
